ValvTechnologies Passes American Petroleum Institute 641 Test

ValvTechnologies, Inc. the global leader in the design and manufacturing of zero-leakage severe service isolation valve solutions, announced today that it has met the requirements of American Petroleum Institute (API) 641 through third party witnessed testing.

The API 641 test is one of three prevalent valve standards tests that evaluate fugitive emissions’ performance over an accelerated life cycle. Of the three, the API 641 Standard is the most stringent type test for quarter-turn valves and covers different designs, temperature ratings and sealing components. To pass this critical test, valves must meet the demanding criteria of maximum leakage of 100 parts per million by volume (PPMv), while undergoing 610 cycles of the valve under extreme temperatures.

ValvTechnologies completed the testing as it successfully demonstrated in a number of tests, conducted and witnessed by Qualispect, Inc., an independent third-party inspection company, the product’s ability to meet testing requirements.

As a result, ValvTechnologies has proven its ability to design products and services that exceed customer requirements, improve customer satisfaction and reduce fugitive emissions.

“We are proud to have passed the API 641 test requirements as it recognizes our long-standing commitment to providing the highest quality in our operations,” said Kevin Hunt, ValvTechnologies’ President.

“This prestigious achievement demonstrates to our customers that ValvTechnologies has applied the highest level of controls for its valves, achieving a solid reputation for being the best fugitive emissions solution in the industry.”
