UK Metals Expo 2023: Bigger and Better Than Ever!

Make sure to save the date! The UK Metals Expo 2023 is set to be the must-attend event for anyone involved in the metals industry, taking place on September 13th and 14th at the NEC in Birmingham.

Covering everything from primary metal manufacture to supply chain management, processing, fabrication, machinery, engineering, surface coatings, and recycling, this is the only event that brings together the entire metals supply chain with the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

The 2023 edition is doubling in size compared to the previous year, featuring over 200 exhibitors, 100 speakers, and an expected attendance of over 5,000 industry professionals. This presents an unrivalled opportunity to connect with peers, showcase cutting-edge products and services, and stay ahead of the latest industry trends.

The event will boast an impressive range of exhibitors, showcasing stockholders, tooling, machinery, fabricators, processors and recyclers with renowned names like TATA Steel, Hydro Aluminium, Outokumpu Stainless Distribution, Anglo Stainless, Brown McFarlane, Acerinox, Valbruna, AMEG (Amari), Smiths Metal Centres, Hempel Special Metals, Metelec Innoval, Fisher Grouop, Cortizo, Trimble Langley Alloy, BLM Group and the BVAA.

Attendees can look forward to a comprehensive program designed to inform them about industry trends, trade, skills, innovations, and regulations. The conference program will cover a diverse range of hot topics, offering informative and forward-thinking discussions. Expect engaging conversations on the importance of a UK industrial strategy, decarbonizing the UK steel industry to achieve Net Zero, and the implications of CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) on the UK metals industry and other key industrial sectors.

Resource efficiency and circular principles will be emphasized as key drivers for business success. Exciting discussions on the future of hydrogen engines, batteries, and autonomous vehicles will uncover their implications for metals suppliers and the industry as a whole.

Sustainable manufacturing will take centre stage with sessions focused on advancing metallurgy, reusing materials, and unlocking the economic viability of recycled metals in manufacturing. The event will also highlight the crucial role of the metals sector in supporting the UK government's ambitious targets in the solar and wind energy industries.

The expo will delve into evolving platforms in modern methods of engineering, innovation processes, technological advancements, digitalization, AI, and their impact on metals manufacturing.

Additionally, thought-provoking panel discussions with leading metals stockholders will provide insights into key metal resource price evolution and tips on how to mitigate supply shortages.
