'BERNARD CONTROLS, electric actuator specialist, have extended their product range of weatherproof quarter-turn actuators. The AQ range, specifically designed for the power, water and various industrial applications, is now available for torques up to 10,000Nm as standard.'

With over eighty years of experience since their first compact quarter-turn electric actuator was launched, Bernard Controls continues to advance and expand its portfolio to meet the needs of consumers.

Whether for common flow control in thermal power plants, water treatment plants, or any industrial application, Bernard Controls can deliver a compact, simple and reliable electric actuation solution to suit market needs.

Under the label FIRST BC, the AQ actuator range has been created for moderate environmental and operational constraints. This offers users the essential key functions to operate their valve with optimum safety and efficiency at all times.

Actuators from the AQ series offer a compact optimized design that is user-friendly, reliable and of exceptional quality. The range is also available in multi-voltage dependent on the application, whether it be AC/DC or single/three phase.

Constructed with full aluminium enclosure, fortified with a durable powder coating, the AQ range offers IP68 and C4 protection as standard.

The actuators are incredibly easy to operate, set up of travel limit switches requiring only a standard screwdriver which eliminates the need for any special tooling. They are also available prewired.

Because security onsite is mandatory, AQ actuators have declutch-free manual override for quick intervention when needed, and all motors come with thermal protection. Moreover, AQ actuators offer a wide range of options for On-Off functions (Class A), Inching/Positioning (Class B) or Modulating applications (Class III): additional signalling relays, stainless steel name plate, Fieldbus communication protocol.

By the end of 2019, 7 new models for the quarter-turn AQ range have been released: AQ80, AQ150, AQ280, AQ430, AQ610, AQ830, AQ1000.

By offering these newer products, Bernard Controls have been able to extend the torque range from 15 to 800 Nm in direct and up to 10,000 Nm. The AQ quarter-turn series is also further complimented by the AT range for multi-turn applications.

Now available for order and global delivery, the complete AQ range features two control types: electro-mechanical SWITCH version and an integrated new LOGIC version. Both are available for standard on-off or modulating applications. Bernard Controls LOGIC control has been specially redesigned to offer the main functions expected from modern integrated controls.

Now featuring a large LCD display, this turn-key integrated control system enables non-intrusive settings for enhanced safety and reliability, whilst being compatible with the most common fieldbus protocols including Modbus and Profibus. Bluetooth communication (as standard) also allows the user to communicate with BERNARD CONTROLS new mobile application BC APP with user friendly settings, basic commands and troubleshooting.
