Advanced Valve Solutions UK Ltd moves to its new home in East Bridgford, Nottingham
Advanced Valves Solutions (AVS) was established in 1998 to provide solutions to the Power Generation Industry when excessive wear, thermal cracking and stressing became a major problem in two shifting plants – resulting in millions of pounds in lost revenue, through downtime, maintenance costs and unavailability. AVS offer a holistic view of the whole process and provide a tailored, bespoke product, package, or solution, to reduce or eliminate failures and significantly extend the life expectancy of a power plant. We do this through providing a solution based on the lifetime costs of the solution, rather than only the initial investment.
UK Director, Alex Jackson explained: “We pride ourselves on not simply selling valves from a brochure, we sell complete solutions based on in depth knowledge and industry leading experts to not only supply but to engineer a solution that saves our clients’ money across the lifetime of their station. We specialise in high pressure and high temperature applications, where typically a greater engineered solution is required. We continue to grow into new business areas, including Nuclear, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Energy from waste, biomass and our core business, Combined Cycle Gas turbines.”
“The demands on our Gas Turbine power stations have changed radically over the years. They rarely run continuously, and they are required to start up and shut down as and when the demand dictates it. This demand is due to an increasing supply from renewable energy generation such as wind and solar power which can fulfil the requirements of the National Grid at certain times and reduce the need for base load stations that rarely shut down and start up, this means, the traditional plants are used on a more rapid response basis to bridge the gaps when wind and solar are not delivering peak generation.”
Our new office is centrally based and offers the UK team a more local and improved work environment whilst maintaining the ability to deliver our small group training sessions in subjects such as: - Control Valves; Primary Isolation Valves; Butterfly Valves; Actuation; Flow Measurement and Control; Gas Valves and Material Technology (casting & forging). Some of the courses will be run as workshops with the opportunity for ‘hands on’ learning. Additionally, industry specialists (guests) will offer a unique insight into the role that innovation has played to reduce revenue loss.
Most of the courses are offered free of charge and include refreshments and lunch.
