IOGP JIP33 S-715 Coating & Painting for Offshore, Marine Coastal & Subsea Environments Supplier Questionnaire Launched
What is it?
The IOGP JIP33 specification S-715 was first issued in July 2022 and is published in the form of an overlay of NORSOK M-501. It is now entering the pre-framing part of their maintenance cycle to identify if any changes are required in a future revision. IOGP is now inviting suppliers of Offshore, Marine Coastal & Subsea Environments (NORSOK) coatings and painting to comment on the current specification by means of a supplier questionnaire.
The questionnaire will require input from both manufacturers and coating / painting subcontractors to complete covering areas such as the extent of use, opportunities for further standardisation via common deviation requests, preferred minimum documentation requirements, inspection measures and some specific technical questions.
The questionnaire should be completed online via the following link Supplier Questionnaire IOGP S-715 Coating and Painting (NORSOK) [Maintenance] (office.com) and is estimated to take around 30 minutes to complete, however it does require information from sales, quality inspection, engineering and probably coating subcontractors to complete. The deadline for completion is Wednesday 9-11-22.
Why is it Important?
The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) is the voice of the global upstream industry with 83 members including the 12 major global operators. JIP33 is an IOGP joint industry project aimed at industry wide standardisation and cost reduction of the equipment supply chain.
The supply of equipment coated or painted to NORSOK specifications is often an expensive process in terms of production inspection and documentation costs. This questionnaire represents an opportunity to pass on your views to the IOGP JIP33 project team on how the S-715 specification can be improved to reduce cost throughout the supply chain.
