Adanac Ship First UKCA Marked Modified Valves

Adanac Valve Specialities Ltd have shipped their first order of UKCA marked modified valves.

Adanac gained UKCA certification in July 2022 to sit alongside the CE certification they have held since the end of 2000. This certification allows Adanac to modify previously CE & UKCA marked valves to suit customers’ particular requirements and maintain compliance with the Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations and the European Pressure Equipment Directive.

The first phase of this project stretched over November and December 2022 and into January 2023. Because orders were placed in October, for delivery after the original mandatory UKCA marking date, the end user stipulated that the valves must comply with the PE(S)R, which was not a problem for Adanac.

The project involved the modification of standard ‘off the shelf’ valves to a variety of Bellows Sealed, Low Temperature Extended Bonnets, Cryogenic and, in the case of a couple of items, Cryogenic Bellows Sealed. A mixture of Gate and Globe Valves, Welded and Bolted Bonnet valves, ranging in size from NPS ½ to NPS 2. One hundred and thirty-three valves in total, all understood to be for the rejuvenation of a chemical plant in Teesside.

The next phase of the project is now starting to filter through to Adanac’s customers, which will make for a good start to 2023.

Adanac has been modifying industrial pipeline valves since 1986. Working from a facility in Suffolk, Adanac has a staff of highly skilled engineers and technicians and has gained approval from several of the most popular valve manufacturers. Adanac work mainly with distributers and stockists, allowing them to better utilise their standard stock offering in the marketplace.
