Hot Spot Call for Members to Join API Task Group 17O

What is it?

API have formed a task group to revise their existing API 17O Recommended Practice for Subsea High Pressure Pipeline System (HIPPS).

They anticipate that the specification will be modified to align with the latest API 17V and cover the impact of electric systems. It is also likely to be modified in line with IEC 61511 life cycle limitations, with respect to local regulatory requirements and requirements cyber security assessment.

If you are interested in joining this task group as a non API member, please contact the BVAA secretariat by 30th June.

Why is it Important?

If you are involved with the design and manufacture of subsea HIPPS valves membership of this task group will allow you to participate and influence the development of an important API specification.

Participation costs are minimal because API meetings are generally held as hybrid meetings allowing both online and face to face participation. Non API members are able to contribute to the discussion and development of specifications as well as participating in formal reviews of the draft documents however, only full API member organisations are able to vote to approve the final documents.
