Strong growth powers Glenfield Invicta’s recruitment drive

Exceptionally strong growth over the course of 2023/24, and our continued commitment to providing our customers with exceptional service are key factors behind a recruitment drive that has seen nine new additions to the team in recent months.

Glenfield Invicta designs, manufactures, refurbishes, installs and services valves and penstocks. The valves and penstocks are destined for use in the clean and wastewater sectors, dams and reservoirs, hydropower, and non-utility infrastructure.

Growth has been particularly strong for Glenfield Invicta’s Engineering Site Solutions (ESS) team. As a result, Steve Doyle has moved into the newly created position of Head of Service Delivery. With Eamonn Quinn on board as the Business Development Manager for Engineering Site Solutions to cover the Southern Region, Eamonn has extensive experience across all aspects of water operations and civil engineering. James Gechie joins the ESS team to manage projects across Scotland and the North of England.

The ESS engineering support team has also been significantly strengthened. Imran Jones spent ten years in the Royal Navy during which time he studied for a degree in mechanical engineering. Further recruits include Danny McDermott, an engineering technician specialising in electrical engineering and Liam Doidge, who honed his mechanical engineering skills maintaining submarines.

Growing demand for Glenfield Invicta’s penstock offer has led to expanding the team to include Ronan McNamee as Sales Support Engineer. Amongst his experience and skillsets, Ronan is an engineering graduate from the University of Strathclyde.

Design, health and safety, and human resources capabilities have also been strengthened in recent months. Karen Burdge brings almost thirty years of HR experience to the team, including ten years at South East Water: Iain Johnstone, Glenfield Invicta’s new Senior SHEQ Manager, has a track record of SHEQ management in the utilities sector; and, Bryan Mackie, who has joined our design office as Design Draughts Person, acquired his CAD skills studying Aircraft Engineering.

Paul Boyden, Managing Director, stated:

‘These are exciting times for Glenfield Invicta. As we continue to grow it is vitally important that we recruit the right calibre of people, with the right skillsets and a positive mindset. We are looking forward enormously to working with our new team.’

Glenfield Invicta is a member of the AVK Group of Companies. It operates out of offices in Kilmarnock and Maidstone.
