AMB Co. Ltd – Exciting times!

One of the UK’s leading suppliers of hardfaced components, AMB Co. Ltd, continue moving forward with their investment plans.

The Sheffield-based engineering company have enjoyed a successful period in the past few years, but they’re certainly not resting on their laurels.  Business Development Manager Andrew Wellwood explains:

“It’s been quite a successful few years here at AMB Co. Ltd, in this post-covid era, in the face of some challenging times, it must be said.  On the back of a global pandemic, there’s been the war in Ukraine, mini recessions, the continued conflict in the middle east, political upheaval all over the world.  However, we’ve seen continued growth over that time, and we’re forging ahead with our investment plans, despite the current geo-political landscape.

We’ve brought 3 new faces into the company, in our Quality department, milling section, and CNC turning section, we’re currently looking for an NDT apprentice, and we’ve recently installed a new SVM 4100 milling machine to complement our larger machines; and this is just in the past 3 months.

We’re also hoping to increase our capabilities later in the year with additional support in Quality, machining, and welding, and further investment in our technology and accreditations.  It’s this investment, in both our people and facility, that’s helped sustain us for the past 87 years.

Yes, we’re a successful family business, but we’re ambitious and this recent investment is a small part of our continuous improvement plans and the bigger picture for AMB Co. Ltd, which is ultimately what drives us to ensure we’re still here in another 87 years.

On the back of a busy 2024 for AMB Co. Ltd, which saw us increase our presence in overseas markets such as North and South America, Europe, and the Middle East, we’re now seeing some traction with projects we’ve been working on in Defence, Nuclear, and Power Generation sectors. Exciting times!”
