Hot Spot IOGP JIP33 Revise S-562 API 6D Ball Valves Specification

What is it?
IOGP JIP33 has published the 4th edition of S-562 Supplementary Specification for API 6D Ball Valves, defining a minimum common set of requirements for the procurement of ball valves for application in the oil and gas industries. The new edition has been substantially revised in line with the API 6D 25th edition and its addendum 2 published 9/24.
The specification and its accompanying procurement data sheet, information sheet and quality requirements can be downloaded free of charge from the IOGP JIP33 website by following S-562 Ball Valves (API) v4.0 | IOGP Publications library.
Why is it Important?
This specification includes supplementary requirements for API 6D Ball Valves that will be adopted by 12 of the major operators in the oil and gas industry who are members of IOGP. The 4th edition has been substantially revised in format and includes several supplementary requirements to API 6D, these include basic design requirements additional to complying with ASME B16.34 and ASME Section VIII design codes.
It is important that BVAA members who manufacture API 6D ball valves review the draft documents to understand the compliance of their existing products against these revised supplementary requirements.
