Every duplex and super duplex grade a valve manufacturer needs, from one source

Valve manufacturers rarely need a single duplex grade in a single size. A body in aggressive chemical service, a seat in seawater, trim in general chloride duty - each can call for a different super duplex or duplex grade, in the exact bar diameter or plate thickness the drawing calls for. Langley Alloys holds every grade and size a valve maker is likely to specify, from one stockholder, in the most complete range on the market.

For valve makers, that breadth matters more than it does in most sectors. A duplex or super duplex grade has to be selected on service conditions, body, stem, trim and seat each potentially calling for a different balance of strength and corrosion resistance, and then it has to be available in the right bar diameter or plate thickness to machine economically. Sourcing that from one supplier removes the compromises that come with patchy stock.

The range spans all four grades in common valve service. Ferralium 255 (UNS S32550, F61), the original super duplex, remains the only grade to exceed 85ksi minimum yield strength, and its 2.0% copper content gives resistance to sulphuric, nitric and phosphoric acids that the other grades cannot match, making it the natural choice for valve bodies and trim in chemical and acid handling duties. S32760 (F55) substitutes tungsten for copper and performs strongly in seawater and chloride service typical of offshore valves. S32750 (F53, SAF2507) offers super duplex corrosion resistance without either addition. Completing the family is 22% chromium duplex Alloy 2205 (S32205, F51), which covers around 80% of duplex production and can be dual-certified as S31803.

Where Langley separates from a generalist stockist is size. Our super duplex solid bar runs to roughly 40 different diameters, from 0.5" (12.7mm) to 16" (406.4mm), with S32760 stocked up to 20" (508mm). Plate is held up to 3" (76.2mm) thick, alongside seamless pipe, flanges and fittings.

For valve buyers, that breadth means the grade can be chosen on merit rather than availability, and specified closer to the finished dimension to reduce machining time and material waste.
