Langley Alloys Acquires Offshore Stainless & Alloys
Strengthening UK stainless bar supply

Langley Alloys has acquired Offshore Stainless & Alloys, adding a dedicated UK cold drawn bar manufacturer to the group and broadening what it can offer engineers and machinists across the valve and fastener sectors.
The acquisition reflects continued reinvestment in the group's UK capability. Offshore Stainless & Alloys brings over 25 years of precision cold drawing in stainless, duplex, super duplex and nickel alloys, along with NORSOK accreditation and a substantial UK stock position. For valve manufacturers already sourcing corrosion-resistant alloy bar from Langley Alloys, it means a wider grade and size range from within a single group.
Central to that offer is PRODEC enhanced stainless bar, now stocked as standard across the full range in 316L, 304L and 303. This is not a parallel line: every stainless round and cold drawn bar the company supplies in these grades is PRODEC grade. Standard round bar is held from 10mm to 180mm diameter, and cold drawn bar from 7.925mm to 100mm, available in round, hexagonal, flat and square sections with a peeled or ground finish across the range.
For engineers specifying stainless bar, PRODEC's appeal is total cost per machined part rather than the material price alone. Independent trial data shows cutting speed increases of around 20% on 316L and 13% on 304L, with tool life extended by up to 159% against standard bar. For valve components produced in volume, that translates directly into shorter cycle times, fewer tool changes and lower cost per finished part, without compromise to corrosion resistance.
The timing also matters. Because this bar is UK-manufactured, it sits outside the tariff and quota exposure now affecting imported stainless from July 2026. For UK valve and component manufacturers, that removes a real and growing supply chain risk, and secures competitively priced, high-performance bar from substantial domestic stock with short lead times.
The addition of Offshore Stainless & Alloys extends the group's ability to support demanding applications in offshore, energy, marine and general engineering, backed by the metallurgical expertise Langley Alloys has built since 1938.
