Improving Corrosion Performance Through PM-HIP

Nickel Aluminium Bronze (NiAlBronze) remains a widely used alloy in valve applications exposed to seawater, offshore infrastructure, and other aggressive corrosive environments. As with all PM-HIP materials, powder characteristics are critical to achieving these outcomes. Particle cleanliness, chemical stability, and oxygen control directly influence bonding behaviour during consolidation and final microstructural quality. Excess oxygen can promote oxide formation, which may affect particle bonding and introduce localised weaknesses if not properly controlled.
