Last month, Ian Parkinson, Distributor Manager UK & Ireland and Steve Barford, (Senior Process Specialist of ASCO Numatics, part of Emerson Industrial Automation) visited Control Valve Solutions’ (CVS) main Workshop facilities in Aberdeen to formally announce that CVS had been officially appointed as the first ASCO Numatics Offshore Specialist Distributor.

CVS will now provide support for ASCO Numatics customers’ who can be serviced from its Aberdeen workshop where repairs will be carried out. This collaborative agreement will see ASCO Numatics providing valve sizing, selection and engineering support in the specialist field of valve piloting. This in turn will ensure users of CVS services will benefit from the installation of the latest solenoid valve technologies on repaired and new valves.

The plan is to incorporate ASCO Numatics valve piloting solutions when CVS’ engineers are repairing valves that already have solenoid valves fitted, and when working with users to engineer valve automation projects. Part of the process in appointing CVS was to assess the standard of work and pictured is an example of a Temperature Recycle Valve that was fully upgraded and overhauled using a range of ACSO Numatics products.

One of ASCO Numatics’ solenoid valves that has stood out for CVS’ engineering team is the low power version of its Series 327 Ex d (pictured above and left). This solenoid valve not only reduces running costs but the operational life is enhanced as power losses are minimised and the heat generated is reduced. With a commitment to full valve life management this is just one ASCO product that fits well with CVS.

Steve Barford of ASCO Numatics said “This is our first collaboration with a specialist offshore provider and demonstrates our utmost confidence in the CVS team to provide our customers at a local level with fast turnaround support that is so critical in an environment where shutdowns need to be minimal.”

CVS has invested heavily in state of the art repair and service equipment as well as very efficient procedures so it makes sense that as long as the team meet ASCO Numatics’ stringent requirements, CVS can respond much faster to customers’ needs at a local level.

Mick Beavers, Managing Director of Control Valve Solutions is a great advocate of these collaborations. He said “We already have agreements with Emerson as an approved repairer for Fisher control valves and an ADC for TopWorx. Having agreements in place with three complementary Emerson brands will help us to continue to deliver the high standards of quality and service that our customers have come to expect of us. By replacing existing solenoid valves with the ASCO Numatics range when we repair a valve, and by using ASCO Numatics product when we automate an actuator, we will ensure users are guaranteed an industry proven and highly reliable solution that takes advantage of the latest technologies in design and manufacture.”

In the same month of being appointed as the first ASCO Numatics’ Offshore Specialist Distributor, CVS also achieved FPAL Verify status as the company enters its fourth year of trading. Mick Beavers commented “This is another accolade in itself. You can imagine how proud the whole team is about our growing success and why we stand out.”

As part of CVS’ absolute resolve to continue to make service improvements; a new company mantra has been initiated. The mantra “HITS” represents Honesty, Integrity, Transparency and Safety and it has been adopted by the whole team.
