CEN/TC 69 adopted decision 819/2020 on 2020-6-9 to keep at preliminary stage WI 00069225

What is it?:  It is CEN TC69 policy to have one product standard covering all materials. This preliminary draft is aimed to replace

  1. EN 1983:2013 Industrial valves - Steel ball valves
  2. EN 13547:2013 Industrial valves – Copper alloy ball valves

The new standard will include reference to the Harmonised Standard EN 16668:2016+A1:2018 Industrial valves - Requirements and testing for metallic valves as pressure accessories.

Why is it important?:  To ensure that the draft will meet the needs of ball valve manufacturers, TC69 wishes to know which manufacturers are making valves according to EN 1983:2013 and EN 13547:2013. Therefore CEN/TC 69 requests the member bodies (BSi in UK) to provide a list of the manufacturers making valves according to EN 1983:2013 and EN 13547:2013.
