Farewell Laurence - 35 years’ service on the BVAA Board

At last Friday’s AGM we bid farewell to Laurence Kettle (Rotork) who stepped down from BVAA’s governance after serving 15 years on the Board.

More impressive still, is Laurence’s involvement in BVAA committee work - a whopping 35 years!

He has twice led the BVAA’s Marketing Committee and has overseen the introduction of many services that members can now take for granted, such as an AGM with cabaret and dinner dance, desktop exhibitions, the Valveuser magazine, the new User Manual, the Global Market Reports, websites and so on.

On behalf of all members, the Chairman thanked Laurence at the AGM for his unprecedented service.  BVAA Director Rob Bartlett commented, ‘Laurence was one of the first firm friends I made on joining the Association, and he kindly rekindled the Marketing Committee for me, as we can see with astonishing success.  He’s always been a real pleasure to work with and I’m going to miss very much his wisdom and charm.’
