Zoedale: Andrew Jakeman Volunteering at Euro 2021

As part of the delayed Euro2020 tournament, over 12,000 volunteers will be giving up their time and working at 20 locations across London (and another 10 cities across Europe) for the 31 days of the Euro2020 tournament.

The role of the volunteers is to ensure that the event goes smoothly at Wembley Stadium and in an around some of London’s key tourist locations. They will be passing on as much local information as possible and ensuring that they provide the tournament with that all important helpful smile!

Andrew Jakeman, Head of Technical at Zoedale, will be one of these volunteers and will be working as part of the Trafalgar Square team in the centre of London. He will be fulfilling a mixture of roles in Covent Garden, Green Park and Charing Cross Station as well as being located within the Fan Zone at Trafalgar square for two of England’s group games. The Fan Zone will be a ticketed venue (open to key workers across London for the first two games) and then via an online ballot, so, please don’t just turn up!

There will also be an Activity Zone at Potters Green (near Tower Bridge) with lots of football based activities and a large screen showing some of the key matches in the tournament.

The volunteers will be clearly identified in their colourful uniforms.

So, if you’re in and around London on match days, say hello to the volunteers…. you might get lucky and find one that is fluent in Solenoid Valves, as well as being able to direct you to the nearest tube station or pub!
