New appointment, Andy Ghiz as VP

Houston, TX, US, 5th February 2020 – Oxford Flow, the flow control equipment specialist for oil, gas, water and industrial process industries, today announces the appointment of Andy Ghiz as VP, Americas, and the creation of a U.S. subsidiary (Oxford Flow Americas, Inc.), to expand its reach in North and South America, and to offer on-the-ground commercial and technical support.

Based in offices in the Park Row area of Greater Houston’s Energy Corridor, Ghiz brings a wealth of experience in valves and engineered equipment, in the oil, gas, chemical and water industries. He has previously held positions including SVP business development at Wood; VP, manager of midstream and pipeline services at URS; and Global Business Line manager at Crane ChemPharma and Energy. His role will focus on building an operation in Houston, supporting the existing client base, and developing Oxford Flow’s long-term strategy for the Americas.

Oxford Flow traces its roots back to Oxford University, where the core inspiration for the product range struck Professor Tom Povey, who at the time was conducting research into jet turbines. Professor Povey’s insight led to a radical redesign of the pressure reducing valve (PRV).

From here, Oxford Flow has expanded to offer a range of PRVs and gas regulators across all sectors, which are 90% lighter and 50% smaller than traditional control valves, as well as being more reliable and cost-effective.

Neil Poxon, CEO at Oxford Flow comments: “The U.S. is an integral part of our strategy as we look to expand across all the sectors we operate in.

Houston was the ideal first location due to its position as an oil and gas hub and its number of public works companies. We are extremely pleased to have Andy join the team; his combined experience across sectors and connections will bring a valuable skill set to drive us forward.”

Ghiz adds: “At Oxford Flow, innovation is a core principle, not a buzzword, which is just one of the reasons I am thrilled to join the team. No matter what sector – water or oil and gas – companies are always looking for ways to increase safety, reduce costs, improve efficiency and be more environmentally friendly. Oxford Flow’s products deliver on those promises.”
