Premier Powder Coating - get your colour on!

We added Premier Powder Coating (PPC) to the QK Group to square the circle – that additional service that would save our customers time, create another option when specifying manufactured or stock items from the Group, or add quality and a value added aspect to the work of industry colleagues in metal fabrication and manufacture.

After many years experience in providing Coating services to our customers, even we were slightly surprised as usage surpassed expectations, less than 6 months after launch, finding PPC was already working independently of the group for many quality fabricators and manufacturers, (who wanted to offer a coating service to their clients), as well as daily production for Laser Ltd and Quickits Ltd to coat manufactured and off the shelf products.

Much more environmentally friendly than traditional wet spray or brushed coatings, that both use solvents, the process of Powder Coating uses only the solids (as atomized powder) to be sprayed, which adheres to the surface by electrostatic charge, passing through the powder while being sprayed. The overspray from powder coating is collected and reused – compared to wet spraying which can waste up to 50% (or more depending on the expertise of the operative doing the spraying) – which makes Powder Coating a more cost effective process.

Once sprayed the component or fabrication, covered in the powder, is heated in an oven, which fuses the powder with the metal.

At PPC our curing oven is a massive 6 metres in length, and components can be cured and ready to go into (or back to) service after as little as 15 to 30 minutes of “baking”. A fast efficient service with many added benefits – including specialist coating to protect items in marine service as well as high and low temperature environments.

Being centrally located means customers can deliver and collect from our easy access premises – or delivery back within our normal parameters. We know how valuable your time is so we also offer collection, coating and delivery at turn around times that may surprise you.
