Business Development
The business development group has been devised to help steer BVAA’s development and marketing endeavours to not only strengthen the association but to also generate innovative new ideas to best serve our members. As it stands there’s several staple services and new changes undertaken in 2019 detailed below.

Link-up
Link-up is a weekly newsletter which the BVAA delivers to announce new services, technical information and a round-up of upcoming and recent events.

It is a useful tool to circulate information pertaining not only to BVAA activities, but also industry relevant information and news. Link-up has recently undergone a refresh aesthetically and now provides the brand-new opportunity for members to sponsor this outlet.

Sponsorship allows member logos to appear prominently at the top of these e-shots which get distributed to 900 recipients. This has a small cost associated for sponsorship and is an effective way to promote a business through a recognised and well-respected trade association within the Valve and Actuator industry.

Smart Screen – meeting room functionality
An underutilised service that flies under the radar is the BVAA meeting room facility. Members have free access to a large and well-equipped meeting room space to suit their specific needs.

The space can comfortably fit large groups of up to 32. A newly purchased smart screen also allows increased opportunities for conference calls, presentations and internet use as required.

The BVAA team can also organise lunch as needed. BVAA HQ is very well placed being situated near the M40 with easy links into London and Birmingham, making this the perfect central meeting location to accommodate large groups.

Website
The website has been relaunched with updated features which enables members to regain control of their profile and data. The new system allows users to register their own password which only they have access to, increasing overall security. In addition, within the member area users can see real time statistics in relation to web hits through the members directory on www.bvaa.org.uk.

Providing the necessary tools to update their own profile ultimately gives more control and enables a smarter platform for companies to promote their trade. This is evermore vital as BVAA web-based traffic continues to expand averaging 2,500 per month.

Events
As ever the BVAA places a large amount of time and resource into the provision of excellent networking events from small to large scale. This has continued to flourish with a host of desktop exhibitions taking place in 2019 and some being record breakers. These oppotunities are devised with members firmly in mind.

Valve User
This publication enables members the opportunity to voice new products, staff appointments, changes of premises and any other news they wish to promote.

The magazine is distributed to thousands and as well as hitting doorsteps, is also circulated at notable trade shows including Valve World, IVS, Fluid Power and ONS to name a few.

Copies are also distributed at our highly popular and well attended desktop events. Editorial is free for members and advertising opportunities at a subsidised rate. This outlet continues to be well supported by members and very well read and respected within the industry.

Social Media
The BVAA uses social media outlets to distribute industry relevant news, updates and BVAA activities. Social media is a fantastic tool to interact directly and on a personal level with our members and ultimately helps build a community within the industry.

We have aimed to increase our social media activity to best reach our members. This is also to engage more with our member companies and stay abreast of news pertinent to the industry as a whole.
