Hot Spot Approval of EN ISO 8233 Thermoplastic valves-Torque test method

What is it?

The parallel final ballot approval process of EN ISO 8233:2023 Thermoplastic valves-Torque test method has been completed and the standard will soon be published by ISO and ratified by CEN.

This standard establishes the basic requirements for the operation and torque testing of plastic valves using uniform test methods and is intended to be used in conjunction along with the applicable product standards. It applies to all types of thermoplastics valves intended to be used for the transport of fluids according to ISO 16135, ISO 16136, ISO 16138, ISO 16139, ISO 21787.

Why is it Important?

This revised standard was developed by ISO/TC138 in collaboration with CEN/TC69 and will be of interest to all BVAA members who manufacture or test thermoplastic valves.

Supersedes

EN ISO 8233:2023 is the second edition of this standard and cancels and replaces ISO 8233:1988.
