GJ Johnson & Sons Limited was established on 18th December 1954 by Gordon Johnson and his wife Mary, on her 39th birthday. Mary was very much a driving force behind GJ Johnson & Sons as the company established itself.

Initially trading mainly in and around the shipping industry of Southampton selling ships telegraphs, the company developed into the trusted specialist valve and actuator supplier that it is now.

Johnson Valves are exhibiting at CHEMUK2025 at the NEC, Birmingham, on 21st and 22nd May where they will be showcasing their new ranges of electric and pneumatic actuators.

The JV-E electric actuator is designed for quarter-turn applications. With ISO 5211 DIN 3337 mounting standard. Small, lightweight and compact in design with IP68 waterproof enclosure as standard, these actuators are perfect for multiple applications.

The JV-P range of rack and pinion pneumatic actuators are designed for quarter turn applications on ball, butterfly, plug valves and dampers. They can be supplied single acting (spring return) or double acting with a wide range of output torques ranging up to 12,000 Nm, offering a complete pneumatic automation solution which has an extensive range of accessory options.

The JV-M electric actuator is a part-turn high-torque unit, offering output torques up to 5000 Nm. Product features include mounting to ISO 5211, IP67 protection with options for explosion-proof enclosure, modulating control and more.

The JV-MR series spring return electric actuator generates torque from 55Nm to 300Nm. In the normal power supply condition, the actuator is operated by the motor, meanwhile the spring stores energy. On loss of power, the spring releases the energy to drive the actuator and return it to the safe position of either fully open or closed.
