BVAA Hatters - Raising Vital Funds for Charities

Published: 3rd October 2025 | Issue 101 Share article:

For many years, the BVAA has been proud to support members in raising funds and awareness for charitable causes. Through our ‘BVAA Hatters’ initiative, our members often undertake fantastic physical challenges in raising funds for their chosen charities - these can be very local or indeed international charities.

We freely provide our BVAA hats to members, and in return, they share their photos with us, we make a donation, and help promote these fundraising efforts to the wider membership, and our Valveuser readership.

Here are a couple of recent fundraising initiatives that we have been delighted to support…

Tourde4 Charity Bike Ride - The Incurable(s), raising funds for cancer support

This September, one of our member's husband, brother and brother-in-law, successfully completed Sir Chris Hoy's Tour de 4 charity bike ride - 59.8 miles and a 3,209ft ascent!

They have now raised just over £4,600 for the Gloucestershire based cancer charity Hope For Tomorrow - a dedicated charity bringing cancer care closer to patients via Mobile Cancer Care Units.

Pictured is the team before the charity bike ride, wearing their BVAA hats - for which we have donated £100.

15K Tough Mudder - Raising funds for Alzheimer's Research UK

In July, Lucy Grice from Concept2Engineering Ltd, successfully completed the Yorkshire 15K Tough Mudder!

Lucy was raising money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK.

Pictured is a great photo of Lucy wearing our BVAA hat, and we have donated £100 to her fundraising page HERE.
