FOCUS-1: Smarter Valve Technology for the Water Industry

Recently showcased at the WWEM exhibition at the NEC, the FOCUS-1 generated strong interest from water industry professionals seeking reliable, space-saving, and easy-to-use solutions for modern treatment challenges.

The FOCUS-1 is the world’s first smart meter valve that combines several key functions in a single unit: flow measurement, control, and pressure regulation. By integrating these capabilities, the device not only saves valuable installation space but also reduces the need for multiple instruments, simplifying plant design and maintenance.

A recent case study in wastewater treatment, for example, demonstrated how the FOCUS-1 is being tested at Siltbuster in Monmouth, Wales. There, the valve enables accurate back-pressure control for high-flow CO₂ injection in wastewater treatment, ensuring process efficiency and stability while reducing equipment footprint.
