PDL Group launches Yorkshire Engineering Hub

PDL Group has launched a new Yorkshire Hub based at Sheffield Hallam University, strengthening its capabilities to support manufacturers, operators and engineering partners across Yorkshire’s varied engineering sectors.

The hub brings together PDL’s three core disciplines of Advanced Engineering Analysis, Engineering Design Assurance and Bespoke Digital Solutions, providing regional access to specialist expertise for complex engineering systems and equipment operating in highly regulated and demanding environments.

Discussions at the launch explored how PDL’s extensive capabilities can be combined to identify and implement engineering solutions, manage and reduce technical risk, provide confidence to our clients and regulatory bodies to progress through compliance gates, and to reduce technical debt leading to increases in productivity and quality.

The PDL team were reminded of PDL’s core beliefs, namely that they are specialists driven by expertise and a genuine passion for engineering, they always look to work collaboratively with their clients, and they invest in their people and infrastructure.

A keynote from Scott Davis, Chair of the Nuclear Institute Midlands Branch, outlined the scale of opportunity across UK nuclear new build, fusion and defence programmes, opportunities specific to the Yorkshire region and the critical role of qualified engineering supply chains in delivering safety-critical valves and equipment to exacting codes, traceability and lifetime performance requirements.

The Yorkshire Hub will act as a regional collaboration platform for clients and partners, complementing PDL’s established UK operations and supporting continued growth across northern engineering clusters.
