Hot Spot IOGP JIP33 S-731 Addendum issued to Supplementary Spec to API 6DSSX
Operator & Mounting Kits for Subsea Pipeline & Manifold Valves

What is it?
IOGP JIP33 have issued an addendum to their specification S-731 Supplementary Specification to API Standard 6DSSX Operator and Mounting Kits for Subsea Pipeline Valves and Manifold Valves, the addendum amends the 2021 version 1 specification.
The addendum contains changes to many areas of the V1 specifi cation, including design, mechanical strength, compensation fluid, testing and validation requirements. The specification is available free of charge and can be downloaded from the specification library of the IOGP JIP 33 website.
Why is it Important?
The specification is important because it covers a wide range of operators that may be deployed subsea. It includes significant additional requirements over and above those in API 6DSSX which are likely to have an impact on the basic design and qualification of product ranges.
It is intended that this specification is adopted as standard by IOGP members for all subsea operators, excluding those on the wellhead. Therefore, it is important that BVAA members who manufacture this type of subsea equipment evaluate the changes in the addendum as they may affect existing products qualified to the previous version of the specification.
Supersedes
The specification addendum supersedes S-731 v1 2022.
