Bonut Engineering Ltd’s Growth in New Products and Markets

Bonut Engineering Ltd was established in 1966 and is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier to the fastener and general engineering industry. We specialise in the manufacture of engineer’s studs, shaft collars, pins and precision turned parts and valves in steel, stainless-steel, high-grade alloy and non-ferrous metals. 

DEREVE^® safety valves was acquired in 2010. It was a manufacturer of air and fluid safety and pressure reducing valves. We re-located the manufacturing operation from a site in Birmingham, and the products are now a respected range of safety valves used on air systems and medical gas pipeline installations. 

The Bonut^® business was further strengthened and diversified through the acquisition, of the NABIC^® Fusible Plugs. These are safety devices used on compressors and solid fuel boilers.  Due to the Brand not being available, we have re-branded them as DEREVE^® Fusible Plugs which further strengthened the range of safety devices on offer. 

Either independently, or within a larger structure, Bonut has scope and ambitions for further business growth in new products and new markets, and these are well advanced in many instances.  

All options are considered by the current management team and include the review of all processes, component make or buy considerations, market sector and price positioning, customer and market trends and skill and capability development.  

During the last 10 years we have investigated and implemented more than six acquisitions which has helped us to grow to over £1m turnover.  Some of these were whole company relocations and some were product brand relocations.
