New Lichfield-based centre delivers faster response times, advanced testing and collaborative engineering services.

IMI’s Industrial Automation sector has opened a new technical engineering centre at its Lichfield site, reinforcing its commitment to supporting customers with enhanced engineering expertise, faster project delivery and deeper collaboration.

Opened on 20th March by Jackie Hu, Chief Operating Officer at IMI, the centre brings together a wide range of customer-focused engineering services under one roof, providing Industrial Automation customers with direct access to experienced application engineers, technical consultations and advanced product and system testing capabilities.

Designed as a collaborative environment, the new Lichfield centre supports customers across the full project lifecycle, from early concept development through to validation, implementation and ongoing optimisation. The team includes Electronics, Design and Application Engineers working in partnership with customers on bespoke system design, pneumatic and fluid control customisation, and applications across Factory Automation, Mobile Pneumatics, Rail, Food & Beverage and Material Handling.

Mario Wrase, EMEA President, Industrial Automation at IMI, said: “This strategic expansion establishes a pivotal hub for engineering and customer support across EMEA. By creating a dedicated technical engineering centre at our Lichfield site, we're positioning ourselves to deliver faster response times, more personalised service, and deeper technical engagement with our customers throughout the full lifecycle of their applications.

The Lichfield facility has been specifically designed to enhance the customer experience at every touchpoint, from initial consultations and bespoke project discussions to comprehensive product training and ongoing support. This means our customers gain direct access to our expert engineering team, enabling us to collaborate more effectively and respond to their needs with speed and agility."
