After a record fall in global economic activity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was an anticipated record V-shaped bounce back for many countries last year.

However, economic forecasts for the next few years have been modified in recent weeks, including the UK, as supply chain disruptions and labour shortages frustrate efforts to create the conditions for sustained growth.

Join us for a presentation and discussion led by Professor of Global Economy, Joe Nellis who will provide a timely update on the outlook for the global economy with a particular focus on the UK and the prospects for growth, inflation, interest rates and jobs.

A regular speaker at BVAA events, Joe is Professor of Global Economy at the Cranfield School of Management, specialising in macroeconomic analysis and policy, business environmental analysis and strategic thinking for managers.

He is also Deputy Dean and the longest serving member of the School’s Executive Board. He has previously served as Director of the School and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University.

He has held visiting Professorial appointments at various universities in Germany, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary, USA, and Ghana. Joe has published 19 research and subject-based books and over 200 academic and practitioner journal articles.

He is an experienced contributor to a wide range of national and international conferences and is a consultant to a number of organisations. He was jointly responsible for the development of the Halifax and Nationwide House Price Indexes and more recently for the DPS Rent Price Index.

This webinar will be followed by a CEO's forum with Colin Findlay, to discuss ramifications for BVAA members and secretariat.

Please Note: This webinar is for BVAA members only.
