At the start of May Pressure Tech welcomed local Member of Parliament, Robert Largan, to their premises to discuss opportunities and challenges which has come about due to a 50% increase in orders this year. With such rapid growth and major expansion planned over the coming months, they took the opportunity to highlight the difficulties in finding suitable property due to lack of development of industrial facilities in the local area.

The company already occupies two separate 5,000 sq ft units on Graphite Way and has been based there for 15 years. The company since have expanded into industrial units on the same estate twice.

Managing Director Steve Yorke-Robinson explains it has been difficult to find suitable properties, due to lack of development of industrial facilities in the local area. “With a long overdue bypass around Glossop expected to improve traffic congestion in the next three years, and house building continuing to develop at a fast rate, the lack of commercial property in the area needs to be addressed to help support local employers with their expansion plans, and to ultimately, employ more local residents.”

He goes on to explain, “There seems to be plenty of housebuilding going on, but land is not being released for commercial developments to keep all those people employed.”

He added: “Everyone I’ve spoken to knows this is problem. I invited our MP, Robert Largan, to talk about it and he said there are a number of companies facing the same issue. The council have told me they are looking at it too.”

The visit also provided the opportunity for the MP to see Pressure Tech’s success in the Green Hydrogen Fuel Cell market, with a recent order secured for 2,000 pressure regulators being exported to a key customer in the USA. The firm is recognised globally for manufacturing high-quality ISO-9001 accredited pressure regulators for oil and gas applications.
