Valtek® TX3 Molten Salt Triple-offset Butterfly Valve

Reliable performance, tight shut-off and minimized maintenance in molten salt applications

Flowserve designed the Valtek® TX3 Molten Salt triple-offset butterfly valve to provide concentrated solar power (CSP) plant operators with reliable performance, tight shut-off and minimized maintenance in molten salt applications.

Eliminating leakage in the demanding conditions required for thermal energy storage for industrial processes is a top priority. The design and construction of TX3 Molten Salt valve can withstand temperatures ranging from 260°C to 600°C (500°F to 1,112°F) with standard live-loaded hybrid or Thermiculite® packing. It maintains the packing load for constant external sealing during thermal cycling.

In addition, the TX3 Molten Salt valve has been designed and tested to ensure reliable performance throughout the CSP plant’s operational lifecycle.

Superior leakage resistance

The shut-off design and construction reliably comply with FCI 70-2 Class V for control valve applications and API 598 for On-Off applications.

Ensure constant temperature

The valve stem and packing region are designed to provide a comprehensive solution for packing/heat tracing, including integrated heating, controls and sensors.

Provide a constant packing performance

Materials and the configuration are engineered to match the customer’s specific packing load and performance requirements.

Minimized maintenance

In-line maintenance is available; consult with Flowserve engineering.
