Hot Spot ISO to Publish Latest Editions of ISO 22109 Gearboxes for Valves

What is it?
The industrial valve gearbox standard has just completed the final parallel vote stage with ISO and CEN. The second edition of EN ISO 22109 Industrial valves-Gearboxes for valves will shortly be published and available to purchase from the usual sources.
The main changes in the second edition are the addition of rated torques in the range 32,000-250,000 Nm and revised mechanical advantage requirements for a range of types of gearboxes have been added.
Why is it Important?
This standard is published by CEN and ISO and as such it is the most widely used international standard specifying the basic requirements for gearboxes operating industrial valves in on/off and modulating duties.
All BVAA members involved with the manufacture of valves and gearboxes or the automation of these assemblies are advised to ensure that they are aware of the latest revision of this important standard.
Supersedes
The second edition replaces EN ISO 22109:2020 which will be withdrawn.
